But I really realized this morning that I need to make myself do this on a regular basis. Last night I briefly caught up my journal. It's been a year and a half since I've written in it. Yeah, a lot of things probably got left out. Anyway, this morning I tried to tell my mom, who is new to the Internet, about blogging. My mom likes to write tracts and religious poetry. She also is a big fan of Laura Ingalls Wilder and halfway entertains the idea of writing her own book one day. So I thought blogging would not only be great practice for her, but also give her a place to start collecting her writings. Then I realized, what about my own memories. Even if I just put together a book for my children one day. I need to make myself jot down a few things everyday. I probably need a separate blog, one no one knows about, to put down some feelings, thoughts, memories. Ha.
So just for the practice of it, here is my day. I planned to get up early and exercise as well as have my quiet time. I did manage to have my quiet time, but exercise way didn't happen. I got all the kids to school, which took three trips instead of the usual two because Sam wasn't ready yet. Got back to the house, started the laundry, baked a cake and finally sat down to follow up on some leads for my home business. Then the school nurse called. Sam has pink eye. I go get him and discover he isn't in the nurse's office, but has been sent back to class. This immediately sounds warning bells. Sam, along with my youngest, Ben, is famous for getting out of school. Let me just give you an example. A gentleman who was greeting our family at the church we just started attending gave Sam an individual greeting, letting me know this was someone Sam knew. I asked Sam about him and he told me he was a sub at his school and had been filling in the day he hurt his ankle (NOT, by the way). Anyway the next time I saw the gentleman, he told me the story of that day and we had a good laugh out of Sam trying to pull the wool over his eyes. I was too embarrassed to tell him that he managed to do that with his next class and the nurse and I did end up picking him up early that day. And in case you didn't get the NOT, by the way, his ankle was fine. So when I went to get him today and I find out the nurse has sent him back to class with pinkeye, I start wondering how seriously she thinks he has pinkeye and how much was that she really didn't know what to do with him. But I pick him up and we head to the doctor. I have a mountain of laundry to wash and iron, I have a meatloaf to make, a cake to frost, plus I've only just begun my "work at home " stuff for the day. I feel yucky and I know we are going to sit in the doctors office forever to get worked in. (Actually only an hour and a half - if you saw the waiting room, you'd know that was good). Fortunately for Sam and the school nurse, he does have pink eye. We get home have lunch, I go to work on my leads. Leave to run to the store and pick up Ben. Run home long enough to put another load in the dryer and fold some towels. Leave the boys home and run get my daughter. Get home to find the dog has peed on her bed. She is not happy. But I tell her Roxie was only trying to help me teach her a lesson since my standing argument (one of 215 standing arguments with Alex) is that she does too have time to make her bed in the morning. Anyway, all the laundry is done. Left over spaghetti sauce is warming for dinner since I didn't have time to make meatloaf. I've already checked my calories for the day at Spark people and even though Sam and I ate lunch at McD's, I can actually eat dinner!! Oh and thank goodness Ben doesn't read this since we daily have the same two arguments: (1) No, I will not pick you up early today. (2) No, I will not bring you McDonald's for lunch today.
Now that I've had a few minutes to catch my breath, it's time to make kids do homework and chores, pick up my eldest, have dinner... Oh man!! I just remembered I have one more load of laundry.

I just had a "duh" moment. I've always heard that because we are to pray in faith, when we pray we should then forget it. I've also heard about the importance of persistent prayer. These two ideas seemed to contradict each other. I knew the contradiction came through the interpretation of man and not in God's word, but I still hadn't worked it out for myself. Anyway, I decided to start studying next week's Sunday school lesson. Yes, I'm actually studying a week early. I admit I didn't study for this morning's lesson, plus I was someone distracted this morning (teenage drama, husband drama, PMS/peri-menopausal drama, you name the drama, this mama had it) so not only did I not get everything I should have out of a really good lesson, I couldn't answer the question my teacher asked. So anyway, I'm reading about the Gentile woman who keeps asking Jesus, who ignored her at first, to heal her daughter. I realized I have read examples of persistent prayer in the Bible. But I have not read of cases of "okay, I prayed so now I'm done because to pray again would show a lack of faith" prayers in the Bible. That's because PERSISTENT PRAYER is FAITH. This woman didn't turn away and decide this wasn't the answer when Jesus didn't answer her at first. She continued to pray because she did have faith. Maybe this seems obvious to everyone else, but it's something that I couldn't reconcile because I'd heard someone in spiritual authority over me years ago say something that gave me the impression that praying continually over the same matter showed a lack of faith. So it was really neat for me tonight when it finally became clear to me.
